Count Me In - The Campaign for Change in BC

How many Facebook friends does Gordon Campbell have?

As social networking tools take on a more prominent role in campaigns, we decided to see how many friends each of the party leaders had (as of 7:46 PM on April 8):

Carol James (BCNDP): 1,448

Gordon Campbell (BC Liberals): 1,395

Jane Sterk (Greens): 118

So much for the digital bus.

What if Gordon Campbell were hurt while defending his record?

Luckily for Gordon Campbell, he’s only able to hurt himself politically in a day’s work.  But hundreds of thousands of BC workers face real hazards when they show up to work each morning.

Over the last seven years, the Liberal government has changed the Workers Compensation system in BC, making it hard for workers to access, and get the compensation they need.

BC workers need a loss of earnings benefits and lifetime pensions for permanently disabled workers.  Ask the candidates in your area – where do they stand on this question?  And on May 12, let your voice be heard.

Labour’s Secret Weapon: Held over for One More Week!

Due to popular demand, Count Me In “Talking Politics” Workshops have been held over for one more week!

The BCFED is organizing an army of volunteers to talk politics with their co-workers, friends and family before Election Day.

Don’t think you’ve got what it takes to engage people in debate about Campbell’s record and the election issues that matter to them? Sure you do. And we can help.

• Monday, April 20 - Talking Politics on the Doorstep and in the Lunchroom

• Wednesday, April 22 - Talking Politics in the Newspaper and on the Radio

• Thursday, April 23 – Talking Economics

Sign up for a 3-hour workshop to learn how to talk politics with confidence and we’ll even give you supper.

Oh, the secret election weapon? Well, you’ll have to register to find out.

Do your parents a favour: write!

And while you should also write or call your parents once in a while, the BC Health Coalition needs you to write a letter to Gordon Campbell demanding better care for seniors in BC.

It only takes a moment – click here to send one from their website.
